Wilson Hill is located in Petersfield, Hampshire right in the heart of the South Downs National Park, a beautiful area of the South of England where there is a wealth of attractions to enjoy.

Leisure and Attractions – The South of England is proud to be the home to a plethora of attractions for all. We have listed a few of the highlights below:

The National Trust has a number of properties scattered throughout the South of England, including Uppark House, Harting Down, Petworth Park, Woolbeding Gardens, Hinton Ampner, Selborne Common and The Vyne.

Near Alton, Hampshire, you will find Chawton House, home to famous writer Jane Austen.

Gilbert White’s house in Selborne, a pioneering English naturalist and ornithologist.

Basingstoke Canal and The Wharf in Odiham

The Watercress Line – part of the old British Railway’s secondary route from Alton to Winchester and Southampton. The single-track line was re-laid to former glory, taking hundreds through the stunning scenery of Hampshire.

Sport – There are many opportunities to participate in various sports in the area

Cycling – There are many cycle routes in Hampshire including the newly created Shipwrights Way

  • Golf – clubs in area include Liphook, Petersfield, Cowdray and Goodwood.
  • Horse Racing at Goodwood and Fontwell
  • Motor racing at Goodwood
  • Riding – The bridleways throughout the area offer excellent opportunities for riding across the region.
  • Rugby – Clubs include The Petersfield Rugby Club and Alton Rugby Club
  • Sailing – On the many inlets and waterways along the South Coast
  • Walking – The South Downs Way runs from Winchester to Eastbourne passing directly through our area, there are countless footpaths and bridleways to be enjoyed.

  • A3 runs north/south from Portsmouth to London through Petersfield.
  • A31 runs from Winchester to Farnham

Rail

  • Petersfield has a mainline service to London Waterloo and Alton also offers rail links to London Waterloo.

  • Portsmouth offers various crossings to the ports of France and the Channel Islands
