A charming farmhouse with period origins in a secluded rural setting handy for Alton or Alresford.
THE PROPERTY A charming farmhouse with period origins in a secluded rural setting. Stancomb Farm House has a clever fusion of interior space, combining beamed cosiness with elegantly proportioned reception rooms and a wonderful light and galleried entrance hall. There is space for all the family to expand or contract in, with four bedrooms having en suite bathrooms and yet space for guests. The master bedroom has lovely views over adjoining countryside. There are two staircases in the house so it can flex as needs dictate as the study and sitting room could easily combine with the two bedrooms above as a wing within the house. Downstairs the large kitchen/dining room has a commanding position within the house at the heart with French doors into the garden and adjacent utility room for day to day needs.
The separate two storey annexe backs onto the swimming pool garden and can be used in tandem with the pool (with shower room and WC) as a garden entertaining area or for secondary accommodation, there are two substantial rooms downstairs and two bedrooms on the first floor.
Overall a wonderful house to entertain in or simply fill to the rafters with family and friends, with well balanced interior and exterior facilities. There is 'fun for everyone'.
In a Nutshell:
A great party house which we have filled with family and friends. We have loved the balance of space inside and outside appreciating this unspoilt rural corner of Hampshire.
LOCATION Stancomb Broad Lane is a No Through road off a winding country lane tucked away amongst gently undulating countryside between Medstead and Alresford, part of a timeless rural scene. The garden and grounds have been well landscaped and stocked over the years with a private upper enclosed area of garden by the house with lawn, fruit trees and vegetable/fruit beds. The swimming pool garden is a sheltered area with the annexe behind, further low level brick and flint walls with pleached hornbeams. A further area or lawn with path and fruit trees links through to an outer garden around the hard tennis court. The stable yard is hidden behind high hedges where there is an L shaped stable block with hardstanding and separate access to the lane. The paddocks and former sand school are set behind the tennis court, with farmland to the west. In all about 3.18 acres (1.28 ha).
